Project description
BABICHacoustics worked to complete acoustical design for a new restaurant, event and performance space, and bookstore for the City of Asylum on the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA. This mixed-use development now occupies an historic Masonic Hall. Recommendations related to room acoustics and interior finishes, sound and impact isolation, and mechanical noise control were provided for the project including a large meeting space on the lower level and noise isolation to the apartments located directly above the performance space. Additional noise surveys were completed for the commercial space to identify additional noise control measures for the Owner. The venue opened in 2017 and continues to be a vibrant space for endangered literary writers, musicians, and artists to gather and collaborate in Pittsburgh.
