Project description
BABICHacoustics completed various projects for a renovated building at a private high school in Pittsburgh, PA. Sound isolation for a floor-ceiling assembly between a music and art room were reviewed. Recommendations were made to improve the assembly in order to reduce sound transmission between spaces.
In addition, multiple noise surveys were completed for a mechanical rooftop unit to reduce radiated noise levels of a rooftop mechanical unit associated with the project. Sound data was provided to the contractor in order to reduce intake and exhaust noise. After changes to the unit was made, noise measurements were repeated to show acceptable noise levels with respect to the City of Pittsburgh noise code.
